If you’re planning a new kitchen in 2025, you’ll be spoiled for choice. From bold statement colours to clever storage, this year’s kitchen trends are all about creating a space that’s both beautiful and practical. As a kitchen designer based in Cornwall and Devon, I’ve been keeping a close eye on what homeowners are asking for—and what’s popping up in stylish homes across the UK.

1. Warm and Earthy Tones

Neutral grey has taken a back seat although I've seen a lot of 'greige' popping up lately on my KBB feeds. In 2025, kitchens are moving towards warm, earthy colours: think terracotta, clay, olive green and deep claret accents.

To be honest, in my mind I think I'm on holiday with these colours, warm sandy beaches, terracotta homes, fresh mouth watering dishes and Sangria. Maybe we're all just craving a holiday in Spain or Mallorca; I clearly am.

These natural shades pair beautifully with oak worktops or sleek quartz, bringing comfort and calm into the heart of your home. Nb: If you are considering Oak worktops, it's worth giving my worktop blog a read.

2. Bespoke Kitchen Design

More families are investing in bespoke kitchens that fit their lifestyle perfectly. Whether it’s a hidden pantry, a wine cooler tucked into the island, or built-in seating for the kids with storage for toys, custom design means no wasted space. At Kitchens by Lily Elizabeth, we specialise in tailored kitchen design in Cornwall and Devon, helping you bring your vision to life.

3. Statement Kitchen Islands

The kitchen island continues to be the star of the show in 2025. Larger, bolder and more multi-functional, islands are now used for cooking, dining, and even homework zones. Adding clever features like pop-up sockets or charging points makes them practical as well as stylish. Not every kitchen can fit an island but I bet I could design something that you'll love just as well.

4. Hidden Storage & Clever Solutions

From pull-out larders to corner le-mans (like the race track), clever kitchen storage solutions are one of the biggest trends of the year. Nobody wants clutter on their worktops, and with suppliers like Masterclass offering smart internal layouts, it’s easier than ever to keep your kitchen organised.

5. Sustainable Choices

Sustainability is no longer a niche—it’s a must. Homeowners are choosing durable cabinets, energy-efficient appliances, and eco-friendly materials. This isn’t just better for the planet, it’s a wise investment in a kitchen that lasts.

6. Mix of Modern and Traditional

Blending shaker-style units with sleek handleless cabinetry is becoming a favourite look. This “transitional” style means you can enjoy a timeless kitchen with just enough edge to feel modern. It works especially well in character homes across Cornwall and Devon.
